Woodbrooke Hills

Swim Team is a family affair. We rely on parent volunteers to assist with jobs that are necessary to run the meets and social activities. Some examples are timing races, concession sales and prep, planning parties, etc. Detailed descriptions of all jobs are provided on the Volunteer Positions page. The jobs are assigned a point value which is reflective of their time commitment.  Each family is required to commit to a minimum amount of work during the season.  Each point is roughly 1 - 1.5 hours of time and 12 points are required per family per season.

If your swimmer is participating in A- or B-Finals, you must commit to 1 job at the Finals meet. This is in addition to the requirement of the regular season. Volunteer sign up for Finals will open in mid-July as we know which jobs the league will assign to us and which swimmers are going to which finals.

If you are unable to meet your volunteer obligation, you can instead pay an “Opt-out Fee” of $250.  Please contact the swim chair for approval to Opt-out.  Any swimmer whose family has not committed to the required points worth of work or paid the Opt-out fee before the first swim meet of the year will not be allowed to participate in a meet until these requirements are met.  Keep in mind that volunteer assignments can be fulfilled by any responsibly-aged adult.
