Swim Team is a family affair. We rely on parent volunteers to assist with jobs that are necessary to run the meets and social activities. Some examples are timing races, concession sales and prep, planning parties, etc. Detailed descriptions of all jobs are provided on the Volunteer Positions page. The jobs are assigned a point value which is reflective of their time commitment. Each family is required to commit to a minimum of 14 points of work during the season.
Woodbrooke is also host to B-Finals! This is a tremendous opportunity to showcase our club and generate some additional funds. If you work at B-Finals, each hour of work will be worth 2.0 points instead of the usual 1.0 point.
your swimmer is participating in A-Finals, you must commit to 1 job at
the meet. This is in addition to the requirement of the regular
season. Volunteer sign up will open in July as the date draws closer
we know which jobs we need to fill and which swimmers are going to A-Finals.
If you are unable to meet your volunteer obligation, you can instead pay an “Opt-out Fee” of $250. Any swimmer whose family has not committed to the required points worth of work before the first swim meet of the year will not be allowed to participate in a meet until these requirements are met or the family has paid the $250 Opt-out Fee. Please submit your reason for opt out in writing to the swim chair for approval. Keep in mind that volunteer assignments can be fulfilled with any responsible age adult.
Your participation with swim team offers a great opportunity for quality family time and for meeting and connecting with other families from Woodbrooke. Try something new this year!
